Job Description

Camp is calling. This isn't just a summer job, it's a mission.

Spend your summer making mealtimes the best part of a camper's day. As a Food Service Associate, you'll keep the dining hall running, help serve hundreds of people three times a day, and set the tone for the room every time campers walk in.

If you're looking for something that actually matters, not just a paycheck, this is it.

What You'll Do

  • Keep the dining room clean, organized, and welcoming
  • Assist with meal setup, serving, and clean-up
  • Wash dishes, clean floors, and manage trash and recycling
  • Stock beverage and food stations, including coffee and cereal
  • Greet campers, help with announcements, and create a fun atmosphere
  • Work alongside the Food Service and Custodial teams to keep everything running smoothly
  • Assist with camper check-in and check-out on weekends
  • Participate in camp activities planned by the Recreation and Ministry Departments, primarily after dinner hours

What You Get

  • $7.25/hour + housing and meals included
  • Live on-site with a built-in community
  • Food service and teamwork experience that transfers to any future job
  • A summer that impacts lives, including your own

Important Role Details

  • This is a live-in, residential role
  • Requires active participation in a Christian ministry environment
  • Includes early morning and evening shifts around meal service

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • A professing Christian with a personal faith
  • Strong work ethic and ability to keep pace during busy meal service
  • Team-first mindset and good communication
  • Attention to cleanliness and food safety standards
  • A friendly, welcoming presence with campers and guests
  • Willingness to be fully engaged in a live-in summer camp environment

Physical Requirements

  • Able to carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds up and down 12 stairs
  • Able to haul and dump garbage cans weighing up to 50 pounds into a bin 5 feet high
  • Able to stand and move for extended periods
  • Able to work in a hot, humid kitchen environment

Summer Schedule

  • Staff Training: June 1 – June 12
  • Camp Sessions: June 13 – August 7

Why This Role Matters

You'll spend the summer on a crew that has to move fast and get it right three times a day, every day. That teaches you pace, reliability, and how to work with people under pressure, and employers notice it. You'll also be the one campers see first when they walk in hungry, and a good dining hall is a big part of why a week at camp feels like a week at camp. That's a summer worth having.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Employment is contingent on background and reference checks
