About Us

The YMCA of the North Shore is hiring energetic, positive, and enthusiastic Camp Counselors for Summer 2026 at our Ipswich-area camps. Choose the adventure that fits you best:

🌲 Camp Cedar Mill (Rowley)

Set on 207 acres of wooded trails, Camp Cedar Mill features an outdoor pool, adventure course, climbing wall, sports fields, campfires, log cabins, and more—perfect for classic outdoor camp experiences.

🚣 Camp Dory (Essex)

Located on beautiful Chebacco Lake, Camp Dory offers swimming, kayaking, arts & crafts, and sports in a welcoming, close-knit waterfront setting.

🧭 Explorers Camp (Ages 5–6)

Designed for our youngest campers, Explorers Camp introduces children to their first camp experience through age-appropriate games, outdoor play, creativity, and social skill-building in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

If you are looking to expand your resume and develop leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, this may be the summer job opportunity for you!

  • Camp Counselors must be a minimum of 16 years of age
  • Preferred work schedule is Monday-Friday (5 days) throughout the camp season, 8am-5pm
  • Must have reliable transportation to ensure the ability to commute to and arrive at camp on time daily
  • Mandatory Spring training will be required - save the date of May 16th, 2025
