Camp Administrator [Summer Camp Assistant]

Salary: $17.50

General Description and Classification Standards

Provides program support and general assistance services for an assigned department. Duties include, but are not limited to: copying, sorting, binding documents for staff training and camp operations; answering the telephone; greeting visitors; assisting departmental personnel.

Supervision Received

Works under direct supervision and follows standardized procedures along with verbal and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned
• Performs administrative and program support as it relates to summer camp operations. Assist in the preparation of camp curriculum and staff training materials.
• Staff the office and/or camp site during shift as directed; substitutes for co-workers in temporary absence. Support maintenance of office and camp supplies, paperwork, t-shirts and camper giveaways.
• Assist and support requests pertaining to transportation, swim, golf, vendors and other resources directly, communicating details to supervisor.
• Assist in the preparation, distribution, facilitation, and collection of program, camper and parent surveys.
• Assist in the preparation, distribution, facilitation and collection of staff surveys and evaluations.
• Attends meetings, and training sessions; reviews policy and procedures as required to remain knowledgeable of departmental and program operations.

• Knowledge of administrative and programming procedures and methods as required to performance duties.
• Skilled in communicating with supervisors, collogues and the general public.
• Ability to compile, organize, prepare and maintain an assortment of records and reports.

Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience
• High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
• 6 months of clerical experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
• Must pass background check for criminal and child protective findings.
• Must pass a drug screening.


Preferred Education & Experience
• High school diploma or GED and 1-3 years of experience in progressively responsible clerical duties preferred.



Licensures and Certifications
• None required.

Additional Information:
• Available to start March 12, 2026.
• City of Atlanta Training June 1st- June 5th, 2026.
• Summer staff will be required to work an 8-hour shift Monday – Friday from June 8th – July 24th, 2026; Vacation requests during this time will not be approved.
