Step beyond the classroom and apply your technical knowledge in the real world. Verdantas is seeking a driven environmental intern for the Summer 2027 Pave the Way Program at our Wilmington, Delaware location.

We’re looking for a talented and inquisitive intern who’s eager to apply their skills in a real-world setting and learn from experienced professionals. This internship offers hands-on exposure to real-world environmental consulting projects that make a tangible impact, along with mentorship from a collaborative team that values innovation and curiosity. You’ll gain practical experience in problem-solving, design, and development, while building a strong foundation for your future career in the natural science field.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with fieldwork such as sampling various media, conducting site inspections, and supporting field engineers, geologists, and scientists.
  • Research, collect, and enter data; apply technical principles to help interpret and analyze environmental data sets.
  • Assist in preparing environmental investigation designs, work plans, and conceptual site models.
  • Perform preliminary human health and ecological risk calculations and modeling to support project evaluations.
  • Assist with environmental assessments to identify site conditions, potential impacts, and compliance needs.
  • Prepare technical reports that summarize methods, findings, and recommendations.
  • Travel as required to support field activities and project needs.

What You’ll Bring

  • At least 2 years towards degree in environmental science, engineering, geology or equivalent study
  • Relevant courses related to principles of environmental science, geology, or similar
  • Proficient in MS Office products
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Able to conduct some fieldwork with occasional heavy lifting
  • Must be able to write effectively and articulate outcomes to clients and team members
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Internship or coop experience
  • Experience in ArcGIS and AutoCAD preferred
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred

Salary Range:

$21.00 - $22.00
