Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):

Join the team to make Boston's young people ready for work! The Office of Youth Employment & Opportunity (YEO) aims not only to recruit and hire youth but also to ensure that their entry-level employment experience is engaging, meaningful, and a building block for their professional experience and personal success. The Youth Employment and Opportunity Internship Program is designed to support YEO goals by engaging Boston youth in workforce readiness development and providing access to resources and civic and learning opportunities.

YEO annually employs over 5,000 students and hosts Youth Career Development Programs.

YEO's success in delivering optimal programming is made possible by the college-aged interns who play an integral role in supporting the overall YEO mission.

Responsibilities

While individual responsibilities may vary, SuccessLink Leaders' responsibilities may include:

  • Providing strong customer service to youth and family members.
  • Serving as a resource for community organizations supporting the youth program.
  • Providing accurate and timely responses to questions and information requests.
  • Specific responsibilities may vary according to individual site placement.
  • Performing related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications

  • SuccessLink Leaders must be between the ages of 19 and 24.
  • Strong oral and written communication and customer service skills, particularly with young people.
  • Ability to interact effectively with community-based managers to assist in the youth employment program implementation.
  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize work as needed.
  • Additional specific qualifications may be needed based on individual site placement.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.

Terms:

Union/Salary Plan/Grade: Non-Union / $20.00 per hour

Hours per week: 30

Duration: June 22, 2026- August 28, 2026
