Job Description

Title Substitute Teacher

Reports to: Principal

Location: St. Catherine Catholic | Sebring, FL

St. Catherine Catholic School is seeking a Substitute Teacher to Provide educational instruction to students in assigned age group or subject area for short-term or long-term assignments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver educational instruction using the most efficient and effective methodology for the students assigned when the regular teacher is unavailable.
  • Provide corrective feedback to students and re-teach as necessary, to ensure students have mastered the objections.
  • Collaborate and clearly communicate with parents/guardians and other educators to assist the students.
  • Implement approved-course curriculum.
  • Implement modifications in a student's education plan as required.
  • Complete written reports and assigned administrative tasks related to these functions as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Principal.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Florida State Certification ( or approved application for Certification).
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Knowledge of theory and practice of student learning styles.
  • Ability to remain calm and pleasant under stressful circumstances.
  • Ability to communicate cooperatively and effectively with staff, students and parents.
  • Strong computer skills.
