Work when you're available. Pick up shifts that fit your lifestyle—whether that's a few hours, a full day, or multiple days each week.
You'll have the opportunity to work alongside different teaching teams, meet new children, and experience a variety of classrooms.
Your flexibility helps ensure children continue learning, playing, and thriving—even when their regular teacher is away.
Many of our substitute employees transition into permanent teaching positions when the time is right.
As a Substitute Preschool Assistant, you may:
Support teachers in maintaining a safe, engaging classroom
Help supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities
Assist with meals, transitions, and daily routines
Read stories, lead activities, and encourage learning through play
Step in wherever your classroom team needs an extra set of hands
This role is a great fit if you're:

You don't need childcare experience—we'll train the right person.
We're looking for people who are:
At least 18 years old
High school graduates or GED equivalent
Reliable and adaptable
Friendly, patient, and positive
Comfortable working with young children
Ready to jump in wherever they're needed
Starting Pay
Teacher Assistants & Aides: $17–$18.50/hour
Qualified Caregivers & Teachers: Up to $25/hour
$500 Sign-On Bonus ($1000 for Patch qualified Caregivers or Teachers!)
