Summary

Will assist the teacher in carrying out the educational, recreational, and social programs planned for children.
Examples of duties
- Attend lectures, conferences, and other educational programs as directed to support professional development and growth as an aide.
- Remains attentive to each child's needs and helps promote their health and welfare.
- Maintains the classroom in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
- Rotates to assigned centers as needed.
- Assists with classroom responsibilities in the absence of the teacher and the teacher aide.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferably some college education (child development / early childhood courses / or experience working with preschool children).
- Be bilingual and have experience working with preschool-age children.
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines for the position annually.

- Moving oneself in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

- Must have a Texas Driver's License and must provide proof of vehicle insurance.
- The Webb County Drug and Alcohol Policy applies to this position. Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and a criminal background check are required.
- This position is not covered by Civil Service; therefore, it is subject to all the Webb County Policies and the Webb County Head Start addendum.
