At the Y, our licensed childcare programs provide safe, nurturing environments where children build confidence, friendships, and lifelong skills. As a Substitute Teacher, you’ll support our Early Learning Centers in Beverly, Gloucester, Salem, Marblehead, and Ipswich, stepping in where needed to ensure continuity of care and a positive experience for every child.
👉 To qualify for the substitute teacher rate, candidates must be willing to travel to all listed locations.
This is a great opportunity for education students, retirees, or anyone with childcare experience looking for flexible, rewarding work.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a licensed childcare program required

Qualifications
- Certification through the Massachusetts Department of Education and Care in Infant/Toddler or Preschool Education, or the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (NH) preferred but not required.
- Reliable transportation and a flexible schedule.
- Ability to adapt quickly and step into new teaching environments as needed.
- Flexibility to support various age groups and modify activities accordingly.
