POSTING NUMBER: 426

ANNOUNCEMENT OF SERVICE VACANCY

Position: Day-to-Day Substitute Bus Operator

Requirements/Qualifications:

  1. Pass WV School Bus Driver Written and Skills Tests
  2. Hold or complete a CDL Class B with School Bus and Passenger endorsements
  3. Complete First Aid and CPR Certifications
  4. Pass FBI Criminal Background Review
  5. Pass Pre-employment Drug Screening Test
  6. Pass WV Department of Motor Vehicle Driving Record Review
  7. Pass the State Mandated Medical Physical Examination
  8. Random selection Drug and Alcohol Testing after employed
  9. Minimum of 21 years of age and 3 years driving experience
  10. Must provide a birth certificate
  11. Complete a minimum of 40 hours of instructional classes with a WVDE certified trainer
  12. Complete a minimum of 12 hours on the road training with a WVDE certified trainer
  13. Shall pass physical performance test
  14. Must maintain a courteous and professional demeanor
  15. Adhere to strong confidentiality standards at all times

Salary: As provided in West Virginia Code 18A-4-8 and 18A-4-8a

Term: Day-to-Day as Needed

Available: 2026-2027 School Year
