Substitute Administrator Coverage (Building Principal)

The District is seeking internal candidates interested in serving as a Substitute Administrator to provide day-to-day coverage in the event a building Principal is out of the building.

Assignment: Substitute Administrator (Principal Coverage)

Rate: $200 per coverage day

Eligibility: Internal employees only; NJDOE Principal or Supervisor certificate required

Overview:

Substitute Administrator coverage will be used on an as-needed basis to ensure continuous building leadership and operational oversight when Principal coverage is needed in the building. The assigned individual will support daily administration, student and staff supervision, and urgent decision-making as needed.

Responsibilities May Include:

• Providing on-site administrative oversight for the school day
• Supporting staff and addressing student matters that require immediate administrative attention
• Responding to parent or operational issues that arise during the day
• Coordinating with central administration, if needed
• Ensuring normal building operations continue smoothly

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of district procedures and school operations
