Substance Use Disorder Counselor- Utah State Hospital

The Utah State Hospital is seeking to hire a qualified Substance Use Disorder Counselor (SUDC) to join our Dual Diagnosis Treatment Team in our mission to promote hope and improved quality of life for individuals affected by substance abuse and mental illness.

FT / PT Status – Full-Time

Benefits Eligibility – This position is eligible for a full benefits package.

Salary – $20.89 - $31.41 Hourly Wage

Key Responsibilities

Day-to-day responsibilities of this position:Coordinate and refer services from community resources, placement providers, collateral agencies, the court, and/or other community partners with families, clients, or patients receiving services.Provide clients with information and recovery literacy, through group and individual therapy, as well as their rights, options, benefits, services, goals, and expectations.Prepares detailed case documentation including: opening and closing cases, intake records, investigation summaries, case histories, risk assessments, social summaries, needs assessments, service plans, relapse prevention plans, correspondence, etc.Provides counseling to clients/residents which may require interaction with members of the client's/residence family.Assesses client/patient needs. Develops and implements plans to meet those needs.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:Licensed to work in the State of Utah with one of the following certifications, along with applicable education and experience: CSUDC, LSUDC, CASUDC, LASUDC, ACMHC, CMHC, or LCSW. Preferred qualifications: We need a SUDC Caseworker who is helpful and friendly by nature, a team player, with a strong desire to assist people in their mental health recovery.
