The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. This is a 300-bed residential treatment facility responsible for the delivery of chemical dependency treatment services to probationers sent by the courts and parolees released from the State Prison System and transitioning back into the community. Rehabilitation and Reentry Treatment staff plans, administers, and coordinates chemical dependency screening and substance use disorder treatment services within the Department of Adult Correction. The selected candidate for this position will function as part of the clinical team at a 300-bed residential treatment program and will provide administrative/clinical supervision and training to assigned staff. This position will provide case consultation and educational and clinical counseling in serious and complicated cases requiring a wide range of advanced clinical skills with a specific focus on co-occurring diagnosis in the resident population. Other duties associated with this position include counseling; consultation with psychiatrist, substance abuse program manager, facility management, medical team; and individual treatment planning and delivery.
Salary Range: $47,703 - $83,479
This Substance Abuse Counselor, Clinical (SACC) position is located at the DART Center (Goldsboro, NC).
Licensed as a Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) or as a Clinical Supervisor Intern (CSI) to practice under the provisions of the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Act.
Applicants possessing one of these credentials from a governing authority recognized by the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board will also be considered
Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS)
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
