Provides professional level on-site substance abuse treatment and educational programs to clients participating in or referred to Summit View Treatment Services. Participants include clients who are justice involved or community members.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Completes substance abuse assessments and evaluations of clients who are participating with the Criminal Justice Services Department. Provides individual and group substance abuse treatment, addressing client’s substance abuse and criminal behavior in a therapeutic setting, utilizing research proven techniques for clients and developing a cooperative effort with referring agencies. The position provides psycho-educational and therapy services to clients, completes comprehensive monthly progress reports for the supervising case manager or referral agency.

Participates as a member of the treatment team, attending weekly meetings, and updating records on client progress and making recommendations for future treatment needs.

Ensures that record maintenance requirements are met in accordance with program and oversight agency guidelines, including the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration and the Division of Criminal Justice.

Coordinates, schedules and provides educational and therapeutic services for program participants. Responds to clients in mental health crisis and coordinates referrals to the local mental health system.

Assists in the development of program curriculums; conducts research on current and innovative practices used throughout the industry. Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures as they relate to treatment and educational programs.

Works as a liaison between community treatment providers and Criminal Justice Services Case Managers and Administrators.

Oral and written communications must be clear and effective.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral sciences, education, or a related field andCertified in the State of Colorado as a Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) or ability to obtain CAS within six months of employment.

- Master’s degree and pursuing licensure in Colorado. Full licensure preferred (LMFT, LPC, LCSW, LAC)

- Two (2) years corrections related experience preferred.

- Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.

- Must be 21 years of age and successfully pass a background check, including fingerprinting.

- Valid Colorado Driver’s License.
