ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

We are planning to hire an experienced Subsea Engineer (Controls) to work out of ExxonMobil’s Houston Campus in the United States of America. The candidate would be part of ExxonMobil’s Subsea Systems team in ExxonMobil Technology and Engineering Company. Subsea Engineers (Controls) provide corporate-wide technical and advisory support in the areas of subsea controls (including topsides controls equipment), cause and effects, interlocks, and electro/hydraulic distribution. Responsibilities will include developing and applying design and operating criteria for ExxonMobil’s diverse, global portfolio of assets, new developments, and industry-led initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. degree in Subsea, Offshore, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering
5 to 15 years’ experience in subsea design or operations with expertise in subsea controls, including topsides controls equipmen its interface with ICSS system, chemical injection system(e.g. MCS, Cause & Effects, Interlocks) and subsea control equipment and its interface with subsea hardware and downhole equipment
Working knowledge of subsea controls equipment, including topsides hardware/software, subsea/downhole instruments, umbilicals, SCM, subsea electrical connectors and electric/hydraulic/optic distribution systems. Working knowledge of the subsea equipment being controlled (e.g. subsea trees and manifolds), as well as qualification, testing, and installation methods.
Familiar with typical equipment and component selection drivers & tradeoffs, failure modes and demonstrated ability to diagnose the problem and investigate the root cause
Working knowledge of applying subsea engineering codes & standards, such as API 17E, 17F, 17S, 17Y and other relevant API, ISO, and ASME subsea hardware and piping standards
Demonstrated knowledge with a typical subsea system including general layout, process flow and chemical distribution, types of subsea control systems, and topside systems/interfaces
Willingness and ability to travel internationally
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs
Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
Broad knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and related work processes
Ability to adapt to tight deadlines and frequent changes in priorities
Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and international teams
Strong organizational, coordination, planning, and interface skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
