Purpose: To develop content for and ensure quality of competency or learning purposes which will apply to select healthcare specialties designated by each project

Key Responsibilities:

  • A brief pilot project will be required as part of the interview process.
  • Participate in web-based, telephone, or email communications with the Development Management team as well as program, product, and/or project managers as needed in a timely manner.
  • Research professional literature to ensure alignment with current best practices, requirements, or regulations.
  • Complete all assignments as designated by contract exhibits.
  • Meet all agreed-upon deadline dates for progress reports and deliverables.
  • Remain available up to 90 days following contract completion for draft finalization, final review purposes, and/or to respond to questions or concerns about content, resources, or other issues with deliverables.
  • Edit specific assigned projects with attention to clarity, consistency, and accuracy:
    • Work with one or more HealthStream editors to revise specific courses.
    • Ensure references supporting projects are no older than 5 years.
    • Proofread, including line-editing, checking for formatting consistency, grammatical accuracy, and spelling errors.
  • Currently looking for clinicians and specialists ONLY in the following content areas:
    • Obstetrics/Labor and Delivery
    • Oncology
    • Fed/State Regulatory, Compliance, and Facility Accreditation (e.g., OSHA, EEOC, Joint Commission, DNV, AAAHC, etc.)
  • Experience of at least 2 years within the last 3 years in the content/topic/specialty area
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or higher preferred
  • Active nursing license required (any state accepted)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the content/topic/specialty area
  • Familiarity with current trends in the healthcare industry and regulatory requirements that affect continuing education projects
  • Attention to detail, clarity, consistency, and accuracy
  • Skill in professional written communication
  • Knowledge of APA 7th edition reference formatting
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and how to integrate them into e-learning
  • Capability to see the assigned project through to completion

Time Commitment:

  • Flexible schedule
  • Scope to be established at the onset of the project
  • Project-based, intermittent, as-needed basis
  • Interaction with various members of HealthStream teams

Training/Support:

  • Project orientation from a designated team trainer
  • HSTM Editorial Guidelines access
  • Guidance on development and other processes necessary to complete project
  • Access to one or more Program Editors or Editorial Managers via phone conferencing/email as needed
