This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of high-value subcontracted services within a shipbuilding programme, from supplier sourcing and tendering through to contract execution and close-out. Leveraging expertise in NEC3/4 contracts, the role ensures subcontracts are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards while identifying and mitigating risks. Acting as a key interface between subcontractors and delivery teams, the role promotes a collaborative “One Team” approach, maintains compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and drives strong stakeholder engagement, supplier performance, and commercial outcomes.

This pivotal role commands the management of Major Onsite Subcontracted Services at the heart of the Type 26 Programme. You will ensure suppliers deliver to the highest standards, holding them to account through robust contractual governance. Where challenges arise, you will lead with precision to resolve disputes in Naval Ships’ favour, safeguarding the success of our world-class shipbuilding projects.
