Core Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:

  • Operate hand,legor foot activated valve to stuff sausage into casings or molds.

  • Position on sticks and hangproductto trees or trucks.

  • Check and set proper stuffer controls. Select and position proper stuffing horn.

  • Soak and untie bundles of casings when necessary.

  • Servicestuffersby bringingvatsof meat to stufferto dumpers and unloadingmeat into stuffer.

  • Place casings on horns of stuffers.

  • Operate stuffing machine, hang product, servicestuffers, clean buckets, all part of rotation of jobs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader and Supervisor.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred

  • The majority ofthe time is spent intheplant environmentandwill include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.

  • Noise levelisloud in the productionareaand hearing protection is alwaysrequired

  • Must be able tolift upto70lbs.

  • Must be able to climb on top of stuffer with use of steps and an open bucket of meat.

  • Must be able to push loadedtrees of sausageweighing about 900lbs on rail system.

Safety Equipment/Training Requirement

  • Bump cap, hair/beardnet, eye protection/goggles, hand protection, hearing protection,apronandsafety shoes

Mandatory Training/Competency to be Earned:

  • Proper lifting, Lock/Tag/Try Authorized, PIT, Elevatorand PPE
