Job Description

SFCM is looking for a Studio Coordinator to assist the Director of Recording Services and the Studio Manager in the day-to-day operations of the recording studios at the Bowes Center for Performing Arts and the Ann Getty Center for Education.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting and eventually independently executing recording sessions for internal and external clients
  • Assisting on and eventually independently executing live sound and video recordings for concerts and events
  • Responding to inquiries via the Recording department inbox
  • Scheduling recording sessions
  • Invoicing clients for recording sessions
  • Completing video and audio post production and editing
  • Assisting in training and management of student engineers
  • Supporting A/V needs of events and classrooms

Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and availability on weeknights and weekends
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies
  • Receptiveness to feedback
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Strong interpersonal skills, as the role will require working with musicians, students, professors, parents, and rental clients, sometimes in high-pressure or fast-paced situations
  • Adaptability, resourcefulness, and a problem-solving mindset
  • Sincere interest in audio, video, and recording

Desirable Skills

  • Background in audio/video a plus
  • Proficiency in audio / video editing software and various file formats / codecs
  • Background working with youth in an academic setting
  • Background in music performance or composition
  • Experience with and interest in classical music.

Salary and Benefits

Starting base annualized earnings for this position are between $60,000 and $65,000, based on a 35-hour workweek. Employer-sponsored health and welfare benefits are included and begin on the first of the month after the hire date. Access to SFCM's 403b retirement savings plan begins immediately.
