The Moody Makerspace is seeking a creative, friendly, and outgoing individual with a passion for educating others about “making.” The Moody Makerspace allows students, faculty, and staff access to creative tools and equipment, including 3D printers, laser engravers, vinyl cutters, embroidery machines, bike repair, and various hand and powered tools. Maker Mentors oversee the use of this equipment and provide help and guidance to patrons as they realize their projects. They regularly assist students, faculty, and staff through brainstorming, teaching, and assisting with equipment and tool use throughout the life of the project.
A good Maker Mentor is one who does not shy away from trying new things, is quick to make friends with new people, and who will actively go in search of the answer when presented with a unique challenge. Maker Mentors welcome others to the world of making with enthusiasm and an encouraging demeanor.
