Department Mission and Purpose:

The mission of the Department of Multicultural Affairs is to enrich the holistic development of each student by encouraging them to celebrate their personal heritage and embrace the cultures of others. The department achieves this mission by providing programming in the areas of cultural celebration, leadership development, and cultural competency initiatives. The MA Intern will work collaboratively with one of the three multicultural student coalitions in order to best serve the community by chairing the coalition, communicating opportunities, and planning large-scale events.

Job Functions:

Will serve on at least one Heritage Month committee

Attend student organization general meetings and events as assigned

Communicate MA events and programs to peers through social media and other avenues

One hour of cultural competency training per week

Researching and developing new programming to meet the needs of the university
