Work Schedule: RAs are responsible for supporting students when they are not in class. They supervise students during breakfast and dinner, plan and lead evening activities that adhere to the guidelines set by Baylor TIP, and remain in the dorms with students throughout the night, ensuring the students’
safety and well-being.
Desired Length of Employment: Weekly for the month of June
Pay Rate: $750 for a one-week session

Residential Assistants
Baylor TIP Residential Summer Program Resident Assistants (RAs). provide supervision and mentoring to the students who qualify for and participate in summer residential programs offered through The Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development. . RAs are responsible for supporting students when they are not in class. They supervise students during breakfast and dinner, plan and lead evening activities that adhere to the guidelines set by Baylor TIP, and remain in the dorms with students throughout the night, ensuring the students’ safety and well-being.
Minimum Required Education and Skills
• 120 credit hours or 2 years of undergraduate coursework
• Content expertise in the area of instruction (e.g., mathematics, engineering etc.) if assigned as a
Teaching Assistant
• Ability to communicate effectively and positively with students, families, and other staff
• Strong organizational skills
Preferred Education and Skills
• Experience in a leadership position
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to effectively problem-solve
• Experience working with adolescents or young adults
Job Responsibilities
• Complete all required trainings and job-specific assignments prior to working with students
• Work with Center leadership team to develop residential programming that adheres to Baylor
TIP’s guidelines if working as an RA
• Arrive at Baylor Wednesday prior to the start of the class for on-site trainings and set-up
• Attend all required staff meetings
• Create a fun and welcoming environment for all students
• Encourage students to positively engage with all activities, staff, and other students
• Actively supervise students during assigned times to ensure their safety and well-being
• Adhere to and enforce all safety and risk management policies
• Collaborate with the leadership team and other onsite staff members to resolve any student
disciplinary issues or concerns in an appropriate manner that aligns with the Center’s mission and
policies
• Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
• Assist with the logistical running of the camp, helping with administrative and operational
duties as assigned
• Complete all tasks required for effectively closing the session (submitting evaluations, returning
supplies that belong to Baylor, reporting any property damage that occurred during the camp, etc.)
• Assisting with transportation and care of students with medical needs to go to onsite medical
clinic or to dorms for need rest.
Schedules
• Beginning with onsite arrival, schedule will consist of seven days per week. RA working hours are primarily the hours students are not in class; other schedule commitments include meeting time, class visits, and additional time for planning and preparation of activities. Personal time will vary daily.
