Pay Rate: $8.25
Students will assist classroom teachers in providing high-quality care for children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs. Students and classroom teachers will work together to maintain a safe and nurturing environment that is welcoming to children, families, and lab students. Students will engage in respectful play with children in a way that is appropriate for their age and developmental stage. Students are expected to interact with children in a positive and encouraging manner, assist with basic care of children including diapering, toileting, feeding, etc., build and maintain professional relationships with children, families, and staff members, maintain appropriate child-teacher ratios at all times, work with classroom teachers to straighten up the classroom, sanitize materials (as needed), and put supplies away, submit time off requests in a timely manner, demonstrate a willingness to learn about the Piper philosophy of teaching, and help children work through conflicts, modeling assertiveness, kindness, and respect.
