Job Description

Purpose:

Student Worker – Admission Support Assistant has the responsibility of assisting and reviewing documents for secondary admissions programs. This includes reviewing applicants within the CAS/WebAdmit systems for specific programs. This position has the responsibility of collecting information about new or returning students to ensure secondary admissions files are completed in a timely manner with all transfer transcripts and secondary admissions documents. This position is responsible for the timely review and processing of student CAS applications, transcripts, short answers, and letter of recommendation forms. The position will also be responsible for assisting in enrollment support with Secondary Admissions, CAS/WebAdmit, Common App, State-Specific Program Research processes.

Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the secondary admission processes as needed for MSCMHC, MEdSC, MSW, and BSW.

  • Responsible for the secondary admissions processes for all WebAdmit/CAS programs, including CSDCAS, DICAS, ATCAS, OTCAS, and Common App. Completes all necessary process steps in accordance with GCU’s workflow, policies, and requirements.

  • Reviews all applications in accordance with applicable deadlines.

  • Quality review of documentation to ensure program requirements are met, documents are legible, and the file is complete.

  • Update system statuses to ensure an accurate reflection of the state of student admission files.

  • Effective communication with internal and external customers in a professional and timely manner.

  • Other duties assigned by management, including but not limited to reviewing mentoring/training new hires and teammates.

Education and/or Experience

  • Ability to become familiar and proficient with GCU admission policies.

  • Ability to adjust to processes and admission policy updates and changes quickly.

  • Outstanding attention to detail and effective research skills.

  • Absolute commitment to meeting strict response deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and ability to work in a team environment collaboratively and cohesively.

  • Ability to cope with changing priorities professionally and maintain composure while under deadline pressure.

  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite, with the ability to use multiple systems at one time on two monitors.

  • Commitment to quality, data integrity, and compliance with company, state, and federal regulations and policies.

  • Ability to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities with the advancement of technological improvements.

  • Call center experience preferred, but not required.

  • Ability to work in a team environment collaboratively and cohesively, multitasking and meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to maintain confidential student information (i.e. FERPA).

Education

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.

  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.

  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

  • Work is characterized as more than 90% sedentary performed primarily at a desk in an office environment.

  • Constantly involved in using a computer QWERTY keyboard inputting data, constantly involves the use of hands, wrists, fingers, shoulders and forearms for keyboarding and movement of a mouse.

  • Constantly involves the use of a computer monitor to see, review, read, research, identify data, compare data, identify errors, and reconcile information.

  • Constantly involves close up work with the computer monitor to review, compare, post information, etc.

  • Rarely involves standing, walking, reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, climbing.

  • Constantly involves the ability to communicate with internal and external contacts through a variety of means including in person, telephonically or other readily available technology.

  • Constantly requires mental acuity to focus one’s attention on a computer screen/monitor for long periods, high attention to detail to review information for accuracy, compare and assess information, examine documents, multi-task, retain information, cognizance to meet deadlines, identify erroneous or missing information and maintain awareness of GCE policies and government regulations while performing duties.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
