Job Description

The Admissions Ambassador serves as a key representative of the university to prospective students and their families. This role supports the Office of Admissions with campus tours, recruitment events, office operations, and general outreach that helps prospective students envision themselves as part of the campus community. Ambassadors are expected to be positive, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic representatives of the institution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging and informative campus tours for prospective students, families, and visiting groups
  • Assist with on-campus recruitment events such as open houses, orientation days, and yield events
  • Staff the admissions office front desk: greet visitors, answer phones, and respond to routine inquiries
  • Make outreach calls or send emails/texts to admitted or prospective students as part of yield/enrollment campaigns
  • Assist with data entry, filing, and processing of application materials
  • Represent the admissions office at recruitment fairs, panels, or other on- and off-campus events as needed
  • Share personal experiences and campus knowledge (academics, housing, student life, clubs, etc.) in a way that resonates with prospective students
  • Help prepare materials for tours, mailings, or events (folders, name tags, signage, etc.)
  • Maintain a professional, welcoming, and approachable demeanor at all times
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned by admissions staff
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled, degree-seeking student in good academic standing (minimum GPA requirement, e.g., 2.5 or higher)
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups of varying sizes
  • Positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for the institution
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Basic computer skills (email, scheduling software, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace)
  • Prior customer service, leadership, or public speaking experience preferred but not required
