Working alongside educators and families, this role provides additional emotional and behavioural support to students who need it most, helping them build confidence, connection and a positive sense of belonging within the school community.

About the Role
As a Student Wellbeing Officer, you’ll play a meaningful role in supporting children who may need extra emotional or behavioural support to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Working closely with the school community, you’ll help create inclusive practices that support children across a range of settings and experiences within the school.
This role is all about nurturing wellbeing – for students, families and the wider school community. Your work will be shaped by the unique needs of the children attending the school and guided by the school principal, in partnership with educators and support staff.
You’ll be someone who can respond with care and understanding to day-to-day wellbeing needs, communicate warmly with people from diverse backgrounds, and build trusting relationships with children and families.

With multiple opportunities available across the Brisbane and Gold Coast region, this role offers a meaningful way to make an impact while enjoying flexibility. Positions are offered on a term-time basis, two days per week, with the opportunity to work across multiple schools, supporting diverse communities and broadening your experience.
You will demonstrate:

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.
We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.
We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
