Job Description

The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance Center for Music Production Services is hiring video operators for Webcasting Services.

The Whalen Center for Music live streams over 30 concerts per semester. The Video Operator is tasked with reviewing the concert program days in advance and checking that Ithaca College has the rights to broadcast. On the night of the broadcast, the Video Operator, working in tandem with the Score Reader, will operate the video and audio equipment used for our Webstreams, which are broadcast live to the internet, as well as being recorded locally.

This position is 50:50 video and audio. Because of the relatively heavy audio focus of this position, we are mostly looking for applicants from the Sound and Recording program. Our system uses a 32 channel digital console working off of the school's Dante network - being comfortable with that system is a must! A successful video operator is one that is can respond to feedback, works well under pressure, and has a strong understanding of musical terms and instrumentation.
