Student Support Wellbeing Advisor (1.0 FTE) (Permanent)

Compensation: £34,744 - £38,384 / year

In conjunction with Guidance & Wellbeing Manager, the post-holder will deliver and coordinate a range of wellbeing interventions and activities to support existing, new and returning students. This will include the extended College community in Glasgow and elsewhere, as part of a quality, efficient and effective service.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is 23.59 on Sunday 5 July 2026.

Anticipated interviews are expected to take place Monday 13 July 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of a positive wellbeing culture and deliver campaigns and initiatives that enhance students’ physical and mental health awareness.
  • Act as a first point of contact for wellbeing support, providing advice, managing referrals, and delivering workshops and activities to build students’ resilience and self-management skills.
  • Work closely with Student Support colleagues, academic staff, and external partners to identify and support students at risk, ensuring coordinated and effective interventions.
  • Plan, deliver, and promote wellbeing services and represent the service at college and external events.
  • Contribute to the development of wellbeing platforms, maintain knowledge of emerging trends, and support continuous improvement of policies and practices.
  • Maintain accurate records, support reporting and evaluation, manage communications, and provide general administrative support to the team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external agencies to enhance the support available to students.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Qualifications:
  • Educated to HNC/SCQF level 7 or equivalent

Knowledge:
Demonstrable knowledge of
  • Knowledge of the Further Education and/or Higher Education sector.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of wellbeing and support
Skills and Competencies:
  • Knowledge of pastoral care and wellbeing
  • Good level of IT Literacy including a working knowledge of MS Word, Teams, Access, and Excel
  • Ability to work online and face to face
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a Team
  • Ability to remain calm in demanding situations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confident and self-motivated
  • Potential flexibility to cover evening events as required
Experience:
  • Previous experience of working in a Mental Health/Wellbeing service
  • Previous experience of working within a Further or Higher Education environment
  • Previous experience of working within a customer care and client central environment
  • Previous experience of working in an advocacy role
