Position Summary

The Student Support Coordinator plays a vital role in helping students remain engaged, overcome challenges, and successfully complete their training programs.

Serving as one of the primary points of contact after enrollment, you'll work closely with students, instructors, and school leadership to monitor attendance, support academic progress, coordinate interventions, and connect students with the resources they need to graduate and begin successful careers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor student attendance, academic progress, and overall engagement.
  • Identify at-risk students through attendance and progress reports.
  • Meet individually with students to develop success and retention plans.
  • Conduct outreach to students experiencing attendance or academic challenges.
  • Support students returning from leaves of absence.
  • Collaborate with instructors, department heads, and administrators to remove barriers to student success.
  • Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and school leadership.
  • Connect students with internal and external support resources.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student interactions and interventions.
  • Assist with student engagement activities, retention initiatives, graduation planning, and recognition events.
  • Maintain confidential student records and ensure compliance with school policies.
  • Support departmental projects and administrative initiatives.
  • Participate in required professional development and training.
  • Represent Apex Technical School with professionalism and exceptional customer service.

QualificationsRequired

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1–3 years of experience in student services, education, advising, customer service, case management, or a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working in a technical, vocational, career, or post-secondary school
  • Experience with Google Classroom, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams
