Job Description

The Student Research and Service-Learning Coordinator will report to the associate dean of student affairs and collaborate with the director of mobile health programming and director of student research to enhance the support, programming, and data-tracking for the student research program and service-learning program at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations for the school of medicine student research, service-learning, and service-related interest groups aligned with the needs and expectations of the school of medicine and accreditation bodies (i.e. LCME)
  • Oversees the student research support budget, including providing recommendations to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs for project funding approvals.
  • Create and maintain Canvas Pages and online platforms related to student research, service-learning, and service-related interest groups
  • Curate and maintain databases related to opportunities and contacts for student research, service-learning, and service-related interest groups.
  • Track, organize, and communicate outcomes related to student research, service-learning, and interest groups, including formal presentations to the Curriculum Committee, Dean’s Executive Committee, and Departmental Grand Rounds.
  • Oversee the development of materials and communication of initiatives related to student research, service-learning, and interest groups.
  • Coordinate arrangement for events and meetings; compose and type correspondence.
  • Contributes to the design and continuous improvement of research-related curricular and extracurricular offerings (e.g., RMED 100, RMED 200, TBL).
  • Provides individualized and small-group advising to students seeking research opportunities, including project planning, mentor matching and compliance guidance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Three to five years of related experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICTIONS

  • Master’s Degree or significant relevant experience
