Job Description

The Student Recruitment Specialist establishes and administers programs for targeting, recruitment, and retention of students in graduate or undergraduate programs. Develops programs and marketing materials. Visits schools and makes presentations to groups and individuals. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required. Minimum two years’ experience in academic enrollment services or student recruitment.

Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of student recruitment and retention issues, as well as various course prerequisites, certifications, and/or curriculum and graduation requirements. Knowledge in configuration and use of computerized database programs. Knowledge of short and long-term goal development and implementation methodologies. Develop and deliver presentations. Examine and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures; plan, assess, and evaluate programs. Able to read; use computer and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access); operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, rules and laws; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; accept direction. Think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; gather data, compile information, and compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.

Licensures and Certifications: Valid Driver’s license required.
