The Activities and Recreation Center’s Intramural Staff are key to the success of the Intramural Activities Program. The Student Program Coordinator’s main role is increasing the visibility of our department across campus. This role will oversee the creation of marketing materials across multiple platforms and the promotion of programs and general communications with participants. The Student Program Coordinator will operate autonomously with the support of the Program Manager, as well as provide on-site program media support.
Being an Intramural Student Staff member is a time commitment of a full academic year with an average of 8-15 hours per week. In addition to the abovementioned responsibilities, this position requires the Student Coordinator to attend regularly scheduled staff trainings and meetings.
No formal marketing experience is required, however; an interest in marketing, as well as sports or recreation, is preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities
Support Intramural Leagues and Events (~50% of Job Duties)
- Required to attend Quarterly trainings, retreats, and additional trainings sessions
- Required to attend regularly scheduled team meetings, and one-on-one check-ins with the Program Manager.
- Provide on-site media support at leagues, tournaments, & events – must be available on Sunday evenings from 4-8pm.
- Assist in organizing and promoting virtual events
- This position will require physical movement throughout the entire shift. Physical movement will include, but is not limited to, running and or jogging at a pace consistent with an athletic event, walking and standing for long periods of time, and lifting sports equipment and gear.
- This position will require staff to be outside for extended periods of time.

Intramural Specialty Groups/ Marketing Tasks (~50% of Job Duties)
- Serve as the leaderof the Intramural Programming/Marketing pack to orchestrate and collaborate with other Intramural Staff members in the creation of program marketing initiatives.

- Plan, schedule, and publish content across social media platforms.
- Engage with followers and monitor account preferences.
- Create and implement social media campaigns to promote events and registration.
- Design promotional graphics and marketing materials to align with the program's mission.
- Edit and organize photos/videos from sports programs for digital use.
- Create and distribute regular newsletters and email reminders to participants.
- Ensure contact across multiple platforms is accurate, up-to-date, and visually appealing.
- Adhere to strict deadlines for the abovementioned tasks and prioritize competing projects in a timely manner
- Adhere to the Activities and Recreation Center, University of Washington Bothell, and Cascadia College Marketing Guidelines.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Currently an enrolled UW Bothell student (at least 6 credits)
- All student employees are required tomaintain a quarterly and cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- All ARC Staff must have a current First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of their start date.
- Ability to work during both standard business hours as well as evenings and weekends.
- Ability to collaborate, and work well in team to accomplish a common goal
- Familiarity with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Background/interest in marketing and sportsrecreation.
- Currently pursuing a degree in either Marketing or Business.
- Experience in event management/hosting.
- Basic knowledge of website platforms.
All new student employees must also complete UW's online Title IX course about preventing and responding to sex-and gender-based violence and harassment.

- Selected applicants will receive an interview invitation where they will be asked to provide a portfolio of past work and projects.

- Second round interviews may be held as needed.
- If the prospective applicantis selected, they will be hired and start dates/onboarding steps will be emailed. This current position will begin in Fall 2026.
- Hired students will be hired on a probationary status. To end probation, staff members are required to complete all ARC and University mandated training sessions.
