Job Description

The Siegal Lifelong Learning Program is seeking a reliable, organized, and enthusiastic Student Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our educational programs and provide excellent service to our learners, instructors, and guest speakers.

This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in program administration, event support, customer service, and educational day/evening programming in a welcoming and intellectually engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with course and program registration, including helping students register and addressing registration questions.
  • Answer and respond to phone calls and general inquiries from students and community members.
  • Provide friendly, professional student support before and during courses and programs.
  • Welcome students and direct them to classrooms and program locations
  • Assist with in-person program logistics, including preparing classrooms and making copies and other materials.
  • Provide technical support for speakers and instructors, including setting up Zoom, presentations, microphones, and other audiovisual equipment.
  • Assist with recording lectures and programs and distributing recordings and related materials to registered students.
  • Help prepare and organize course materials, handouts, and other program resources
  • Assist with check-in and attendance at classes, lectures, and special events.
  • Support the Lifelong Learning team with special projects and other program-related tasks as needed.

This position provides an opportunity to work closely with an education-based program serving a diverse community of lifelong learners. The Student Assistant will gain experience in education, program coordination, event management, technology, and community engagement while contributing to the success of meaningful learning experiences.

SALARY: Depending on experience and classification, starting at $13.44 to $15.00

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with the older community; service-oriented for both instructors and community members.
  • Reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Comfortable learning and using basic technology, including Zoom and audiovisual equipment.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Previous customer service, administrative, or event experience is helpful but not required.
  • WORK STUDY PREFERRED
  • MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND OUR BEACHWOOD OFFICE -POSITION IS LOCATED IN BEACHWOOD
