KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to maintain order and discipline in the classroom
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Twenty- four hour OCS ETTP course completion and dated certificate must be obtained within the first school year of employment (to register for ETTP, contact ETTP@onslow.k12.nc.us)
High School Diploma from a regionally accredited school required. Individuals hired with HS Diploma must be committed to enrolling in an AA Degree program
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 month
SALARY: Pay Grade 53
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs other related duties as assigned by school administrator(s).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to be physically active, which includes, but is not limited to, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, sitting, and walking associated with teaching a variety of settings.
Ability to stand in excess of 6 hours. Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to lift 15-25 pounds routinely and 25-100 pounds occasionally as necessary.
Ability to physically restrain students, if necessary, to maintain student safety.
Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

I further understand that funding for this position is not guaranteed in the future. I should seek to obtain the credentials needed to transition to a teacher assistant position if needed. Academic credentials needed include an earned AA degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a 2.5 Cumulative GPA that demonstrates competence in the core academic subjects of math, science, English, and social studies.
