Job Description

The Modern Languages Fellow will support departmental efforts to raise awareness about the benefits of studying languages. Fellow will assist in event organizing, designing materials and activities, and articulating the importance of studying global languages and cultures.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with faculty and teaching assistants to support cultural programming
  • Promote events on social media or through brief class visits
  • Aid in event planning with a focus on community building
  • Provide logistical support to the event organizer
  • Promote the study of languages in 100-level courses and at recruiting events
    • Consider challenges such as AI and changing attitudes toward the humanities
    • Design informational materials for prospective students
    • Prepare activities and discussion questions for current students
    • Attending recruiting events and participate in class visits

Requirements:

  • Current full-time student at Ursinus College
  • Must have declared a minor or major in a MLD program
  • Understanding of social media
  • Able to create and design informational materials
  • Comfortable with talking and interacting with perspective students
