Summary/Objective
The Student Life Coordinator serves as a member of the Student Life team, supporting the co-curricular experience of Sweet Briar students through programming, student outreach, and leadership development. This is a live-on, essential personnel position, with some evening and weekend work to be expected.
Essential Responsibilities
- Facilitate regular student life programming efforts to include, but not limited to: Weeks of Welcome, the Founders’ Day Dance, wellness programming, and off-campus opportunities.
- Provide leadership and event planning support to registered student clubs and organizations, including hazing prevention education and compliance.
- Directly supervise 6-8 Resident Advisors (RAs)
- Participate in regular Professional Staff On-Call rotation, providing after-hours support to students, in partnership with RA’s and Campus Safety. When needed, will serve as essential reporting personnel in response to campus crisis or emergency.
- Serve as an active participant in Residence Life functions including, but not limited to: recruitment, selection, and training of RA’s and residence hall operations such as submitting maintenance requests, conducting emergency drills, and preparing for break closings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary Range for this position is $39,000.00- $44,000.00
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution
- Previous campus involvement and leadership in student clubs and organizations
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students
- Proven ability to multi-task and respond to priorities
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in various forms
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Familiarity with Google Calendar, Google Drive, and basic social media platforms
Preferred
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Student Affairs, Higher Education or another appropriate field
- 1-3 years of professional experience working in a college or university setting
- Familiarity with Canvas and Canva platforms
- Previous experience in facilitation, event and program planning
