Job Description

Digital Initiatives is seeking a student employee for the semester. This position is to beginas soon as agreed upon for thesemester and end on a determined basis. No more than 20 hours per week is allowed for all combined student positions. Please keep this in mind when applying for this position.

Student Library Aide – Digital Initiatives

Pay Rate: $15.00/hour

Duration: Semester, potentially ongoing

Hours of Operation: 9am – 5pm, Monday-Friday

Expected Work Hours Total: 6-10 hours/week

Location: Howard-Tilton Memorial Library, 6th Floor

Training will be provided for all tasks.

Job duties may include the following:

  • Work on accessibility services including transcribing audiovisual content and creating closed captions for videos using Adobe Premiere. Occasional assistance with audiovisual productions.
  • Assistance with special projects as needed.
  • Active enrollment as a student at Tulane University.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Interest in libraries, archives, digital collections, or cultural heritage materials.
  • Comfortable learning new technologies, software, and digital workflows through training.
