Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The Student Library Administrative Assistant supports library administration through marketing, event assistance, special projects, visitor services, and general administrative duties. This position helps create a welcoming library environment while providing students with experience in communication, organization, customer service, and event support.

Responsibilities

Duties include:

  • Create, write, and organize marketing and promotional materials, including graphics, signage, and blog posts.
  • Develop academic, informational, and creative displays throughout the library.
  • Assist with library events and outreach activities, including tabling, setup, cleanup, and event-day support.
  • Support special projects and initiatives coordinated by library administration.
  • Provide front reception desk coverage by greeting and assisting visitors, answering routine questions, photocopying materials, and completing interlibrary or campus errands.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including organizing materials, preparing documents, and completing other office support tasks.
  • Conduct library tours for visitors and campus community members.
  • Maintain a welcoming, organized, and professional reception and work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Canva.

Desired Qualifications

Graphic/ visual art, blog writing, and previous library or administrative experience.
