Your Role

As a Summer Environmental Graphic Design (EGD)/Signage and WayfindingDesignInterninGensler’s Los Angelesoffice, you will join our creative studio environment for a full-time, paidinternshipopportunity.

This is a full-time programrunning from June 2 through August 7, 2026 You must be available for the entire duration of the program.

What You Will Do

  • You will use your designexpertiseto contribute to a wide variety of project types, including environmental, print, and brand development. We are specifically looking for Interns who have a passion or interest in signage and wayfinding solutions to help people navigate complex spaces. You will be working under the mentorship of lead designers and will gain tremendous experience and insight into the project processes.

  • Craftcompellingstorytellingpresentationsfor projects

  • Participate in multiple types of project phases,fromschematic andconceptual design,design development,totechnicaldesign intentdocumentationandfinal artproduction.

  • Work closely with architects, interior designers, digital designers, and strategists to design and realize projects that seamlessly blend physical environments with branded experience

  • Gain knowledge of the spatial design process by designingimmersive experiences for large-scale projects.

  • Collaborate with your fellow interns on a student-led project for the local community

  • Hands-onconstruction administration experienceatproject site visits.

Your Qualifications

  • You are currently enrolled in aBachelor’s or Master’sdegree program in Art, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, UserExperienceor another relevant program. Interior Design and Architecture degrees are strongly encouraged to apply iftakenpreviousgraphic design or marketing courses.

  • You have completed your third yearof an undergraduate program or first yearof a graduate program and are returning to yourprogrampost-internship. This internship is not for recent graduates.

  • Demonstrate a strong grasp of the fundamentals of graphic designand EGD– includingcolor theory, typography, composition,and scale.

  • Basicknowledgeofthe architecturaldesign process.

  • Ability to quickly sketch a variety of design ideas and solutions fordifferent typesof projects.

  • Proficiencywith Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator CAD Toolrequired

  • Candidates with technicalproficiencyin Autodesk Revit and 3D modelingprogramsare highly encouraged to apply.

  • Signage,wayfindingandmural illustrationexperiencearea plus.

  • Proficiencywith MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills

  • Resourceful, self-motivated, enthusiastic team player

  • Curiosity to explore using different emerging technologieslike generative AI.

  • Exploration of visualization and XR skills (AR, VR, MX/XR and Augmented Realities)
