Job Description

Important Immigration information:

Please be advised that Texas A&M University will NOT pay this fee. The Student Hourly Assistant will assist at the front counter by greeting guests professionally either on the phone or in-person, organizing, maintaining and creating documents, issuing ID cards to faculty, staff, and students, and assist with other related projects.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting customers via phone and at the front desk, in a professional manner, to determine the needs of external and internal customers while providing excellent customer service.
  • Organizing and maintaining handling and creating documents (scanning, copying, filing, faxing, distributing).
  • Assisting with projects related to enhancing auxiliary services and student center operations
  • Monitoring student washing facilities and student common lunch area.
  • Take Faculty /Staff and student ID pictures as well as issue ID cards.
  • Assisting with other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

  • Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
  • Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA
  • No prior experience necessary
  • For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least three (3) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student at Prairie View A&M University. (Minimum of 12 credit hours during the regular fall and spring semesters and 6 semester credit hours for the summer semester).
  • Must be in good academic standing.
