Student Grounds Maintenance Worker

Classification:
Full-time, Term (July 6, 2026, to August 28, 2026)

$18.25 per hour

The Tŝilhqot’in National Government is based in Williams Lake, British Columbia serving six communities, including ʔEsdilagh, Tl'etinqox, Tl'esqox, Tŝideldel, Xeni Gwet'in, and Yuneŝit'in. The Tŝilhqot’in National Government’s mission is to support and empower Tŝilhqot’in peoples to exercise their rights to self-determination within their traditional territories in ways which reflect Tŝilhqot’in philosophy, values, experience and culture.

The Student Grounds Maintenance Worker will assist in maintenance tasks within the Fleet and Facilities Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with grounds upkeeping and maintenance including mowing, weeding, watering and landscaping
  • Identify and assist with general facility repairs and maintenance as needed
  • Assist with equipment upkeep and identifying repairs when needed
  • Carries out assigned janitorial and minor preventative maintenance tasks
  • Operate small equipment and hand tools
  • Duties may involve moving furniture, putting together furniture and putting away supplies
  • Other duties as required

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in school and must be taking full time courses in September 2026
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing dynamics
  • Critical Problem-Solving skills and able to set goals and be accountable
  • Communication skills verbal and written
  • Organizational conflict resolution, & time management skills
  • Able to work alone or in a team environment with minimum supervision
  • Recognizes and respects cultural diversity and understands Tŝilhqot’in culture

Working Conditions

  • Travel will be required (drivers license not required)
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and additional hardware
  • Lifting or moving up to 20lbs may be required
