Job Description

The Student Front Desk Worker for RISE Student Support Services (SSS) serves as the primary initial point of contact for students, visitors, and university staff entering or contacting the RISE SSS office. This role provides administrative and clerical support, creates a welcoming atmosphere, assists students with appointments and general inquiries, and helps support daily office operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet students, staff, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner; answer and direct incoming phone calls and emails.

Assist students with scheduling appointments with advisors and staff via university booking systems.

Perform administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, copying, scanning, and maintaining a clean and organized reception area.

Help distribute office supplies, promotional materials, and information regarding RISE SSS program resources and events.

Maintain student confidentiality in compliance with FERPA guidelines.

Assist RISE SSS staff with special projects, event preparation, and workshop coordination as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Current Seton Hall University undergraduate student in good academic standing.

Federal Work-Study (FWS) eligibility is required.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.

Reliability, punctuality, and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

Proficiency with basic office technology, Microsoft Office Suite, and general computer skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in customer service, reception, or administrative office support.

Active participation in RISE SSS or familiarity with university student support resources.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
