About the role
We’re looking for a proactive, detail‑driven Student Finance Coordinator to join our Student Services team. This is a key role supporting learners to access and sustain their education by removing financial barriers and ensuring our funding processes are accurate, compliant and student‑focused.

What you’ll be doing
- Lead the end‑to‑end administration of all student financial support schemes
- Manage and optimise the PayMyStudent system to improve efficiency and the student experience
- Line manage a Student Finance Advisor, providing day‑to‑day support and development
- Ensure all funding decisions comply with funding body rules, audit requirements and internal policies
- Provide expert advice to colleagues on eligibility criteria and funding guidance
- Monitor applications, awards and spend to reduce the risk of funding errors or clawback
- Produce reports on fund allocation, spend profiles and student engagement
- Support vulnerable and at‑risk students by identifying financial barriers and coordinating timely interventions
- Work collaboratively with admissions, curriculum teams, safeguarding, MIS and wider support services
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of national funding policies and ensure college procedures remain compliant
What we’re looking for
- Level 3 AAT qualification or equivalent experience in a financial role
- Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Maths and English
- Experience in a public‑facing role
- At least 2 years’ experience in a financial environment (processing payments, maintaining financial systems, reconciling accounts)
- Experience providing advice or information in a busy customer‑service setting
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain information clearly to diverse audiences
- The ability to work accurately under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Experience in FE or student finance is desirable but not essential.
