Dining Services focuses on making sure our residents are well served and eating tasty, sustainable and healthy meals. At the same time, our team provides high-end catering options that can service weddings, events and parties. Staff within our dining team also work on nutrition, operations, training, menu planning and so much more. While University Housing employs over 1,000 student staff each year, hundreds of those student staff members work on the dining staff and are a key part of the team. Performs other related duties as assigned. 1. High School Diploma or equivalent. 2. Any one or combination totaling six (6) years (72 months) from the categories below: A. Coursework in business, dietetics, culinary arts, food science, nutrition, hospitality, hotel, catering, restaurant, or institutional management, or a closely related field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent: B. Food service management work experience.
Primary responsibilities include hiring student staff, development and implementation of training for student employees, student supervisors, and full-time Management and management of the student discipline program. Ensures compliance with state, university, OSHA and Dining Services requirements. Supervisors engage in and implement University Housing's inclusion, culture and climate initiatives.

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 0038 - Food Service Administrator III position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is in September 2026
The
budgeted salary range for the position is $51,831 to $62,500. We strive to provide a competitive salary,
considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate
experience and qualifications, and budget
constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough
assessment of these elements.
Work Schedule
This position will be expected to work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus on a full-time basis per the University’s Workplace Flexibility policy
