The Student Employee is responsible for performing hands-on experiments under the supervision of a research mentor, including preparation of reagents and samples, execution of established protocols, and accurate recording of results in a laboratory notebook.
The candidate must be a high school student.
Responsibilities:
Assist with routine lab maintenance tasks such as equipment upkeep, inventory management, and organization of shared lab spaces.
Contribute to the preparation and revision of scientific manuscripts and standard operating procedures (SOPs), including literature review, data organization, and editing support.
Assist in documenting experimental methods and results in a clear, reproducible format consistent with lab and institutional standards.
Attend lab meetings, departmental seminars, and research presentations.
Engage with the broader scientific community through participation in program events and networking opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
