Position Details:

The Opportunity:

As the Student Career Development Coordinator, you will coordinate and assess activities related to internship experiences for students in the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS), including Student Success & Academic Programs (SSAP) internships, as well as those offered by other CAHNRS units and industry stakeholders. You will coordinate the assessment and implementation of CAHNRS internship programs in collaboration with unit internship coordinators and university-wide internship personnel.

You will also coordinate the career development program for the CAHNRS SSAP Office by creating, promoting, and delivering career networking and development opportunities for all CAHNRS programs. In collaboration with CAHNRS SSAP staff, you will lead the CAHNRS Ignite Research Program and the CAHNRS Top Scholar Programs.

Additionally, you will collaborate with CAHNRS and university personnel to build relationships with current and potential partners to generate financial support for student programs and educational activities, and you will participate in college-wide recruitment and retention efforts.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100 % FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: $4,061.90 - $6,092.00 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. Experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.

  • Ability and willingness to occasionally travel and work some evening and weekend hours.

  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10and departmental driving standards.

  • Ability to lift 20 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.

  • Previous work experience at an institution of higher education.

  • Student services experience in admissions, advising, professional development, and/or recruitment.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgement and leadership, including the ability to work independently.

  • Experience working in business and/or industry.

  • Experience in event management.
