Athletics Attendants help maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in Augsburg’s weight room, fitness center, and wrestling room and preventive maintenance on the Augsburg athletic vans. This role includes light custodial work, basic equipment care, mechanical aptitude for motor vehicles and ensuring that all areas are ready for use by students, athletes, and visitors.

Student employee will work 2 days a week/ in the evenings typically, or mid mornings

depending what needs attentions, must be flexible.

Student employee will average 5 hours per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine maintenance checks on university vans.
• Vacuum vans and wipe the interior down. Clean snow off vans after a heavy snow fall, and wash the exterior of the vans
• Clean and disinfect equipment in the gym, fitness center, and wrestling room.
• Return dumbbells, accessories, and fitness equipment to their proper locations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in locker rooms and common areas.
• Remove garbage and debris from all assigned areas.
• Organize and clean the wrestling center, including entrance, bench area, cardio zone, and window sills.
• Dust mop and wet mop all mats, including mat edges and mat-wall connections.
• Use and maintain cleaning equipment properly, including mops, vacuums, and electrostatic sprayers.
• Apply cleaning products safely and according to instructions, including disinfectants and Tri-Flow lubricant.
• Maintain and organize mop and storage rooms.
• Support general cleanliness and upkeep of athletics facilities as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

• Rate of Pay: $16.45/hour
• Minnesota Sick and Safe Time
• Not eligible for health insurance benefits

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a student at Augsburg University; work-study eligible students are invited to apply.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Able to lift 60 lbs.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing tasks thoroughly.
• Willing to handle cleaning products and light custodial equipment safely.
• Strong communication skills and be dependable/ flexible and able to take direction.
