Job Summary

Summary: Join our team as a Student Athlete Dining Supervisor and play a vital leadership role in supporting the nutrition and dining experience of UW-Madison student athletes. This position oversees the day-to-day dining operations at Camp Randall Stadium and The Kohl Center Arena, ensuring meals are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest service standards.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can effectively manage staff, and is committed to delivering exceptional service. From coordinating meal service and inventory management to collaborating with sports nutritionists and culinary teams, you will help create a seamless dining experience that supports student athlete performance and well-being.

A variety of shifts are available, including mornings, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and event-related schedules based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise daily dining operations, ensuring efficient service from setup through breakdown.
• Manage food, beverage, and supply inventory to minimize waste and maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Supervise and support team members, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and quality standards are consistently met.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional operation that reflects the highest standards of food service.
• Ensure all signage, menus, and service displays are accurate, current, and properly presented.
• Partner with sports nutrition staff, culinary teams, and other departments to deliver an exceptional dining experience for student athletes.
• Coordinate the transportation of food, equipment, and supplies to satellite or alternative service locations when needed.
• Communicate proactively with culinary and operational teams to ensure food availability throughout service periods.
• Monitor, log, and maintain food temperatures in accordance with food safety regulations and company standards.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions, facility concerns, and repair needs in a timely manner.
• Enforce all company, client, and food safety policies and procedures.
• Delegate responsibilities, provide coaching and direction to staff, and serve as the primary point of leadership during service.
• Assist with training and developing team members to support operational excellence.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure successful daily operations and event execution.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year of supervisory or leadership experience in food service, hospitality, catering, dining services, or a related field.
• Previous food service experience required.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to teamwork.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality, safety, and guest service.
• ServSafe Food Handler Certification, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout shifts.
• Professional appearance, strong personal hygiene practices, and positive workplace demeanor.
• Previous experience in a supervisory role within collegiate athletics, catering, hospitality, or large-scale food service operations is preferred.
