Student Associate, KUB

Part Time, 48 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

Fort Sanders Regional Overview:

Works under the general supervision of the department manager of the area assigned. Performs specific duties in each assigned as determined by the department manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with pulling and dispensing department supplies in area assigned.
  • Delivers items to departments as needed. Picks up items, carts, or specimens from areas to deliver.
  • Assists in physical inventory processes as directed.
  • Responsible for the neat and orderly stocking of the department storage shelves or carts.
  • Responsible for handling blood and body fluid specimens to organize and store appropriately.
  • Assists technical staff with patient computer work lists and entering specimen data in computer.
  • Assists with patient room cleaning.
  • Assists with floor care, including mopping, burnishing, and utilizing safety devices.
  • Assists with transporting patients, along with another employee. Assists with transport equipment cleaning.
  • Greets and escorts patients to and from the lobby to the exam procedure rooms.
  • Responsible for professional communications with customers and support personnel via telephone or in person.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
