Job Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Students will directly assist the CWRU Technology Transfer Office’s staff in routine administrative duties as well as ad hoc projects. Students will be exposed to disciplines including intellectual property management and non-profit financial management.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Inputting financial and legal records into office database;
  • Assisting in cleanup of historical data;
  • Compiling and summarizing various information about CWRU intellectual property;
  • Helping TTO staff with ad hoc projects.

RATE OF PAY

This position pays $13 per hour.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform other duties as assigned.

CONTACTS

  • Department: Daily contact with supervisor and coworkers
  • University: Infrequent contact with other departments, usually limited to message delivery.
  • External: Infrequent contact with researchers and licensees.
  • Students: Infrequent contact with student researchers.

WORKING CONDITIONS

A general office environment working 10-20 hours a week. The office is only open from 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Remote work is not permitted for student employees under CWRU policy.

Qualifications

REQUIRED STATUSES

  • Due to the confidential nature of research funded by the federal government, students hired for this position must be U.S. citizens.
  • This position is only open to undergraduate students.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Strong skills in Google and Microsoft work suites preferred;
  • Previous office and/or data entry experience is a plus;
  • Effective communication skills and ability to relay and understand complex information through email and speech.
